In terms of my approach to therapy, I want to find the treatment that you feel works for YOU. While you’re in my office, it’s all about you, your child, your family, your relationship. I want to provide a culturally-sensitive, unique treatment plan with clear attainable goals to help promote growth in a positive and warm environment. I am also LGBTQA+ friendly and will factor that into our treatment approach as well. 


I follow plenty of research-based therapeutic modalities that include some of the following: 


Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - this approach focuses on challenging negative thought patterns and behaviors in order to achieve specific goals. This treatment is a mixture of cognitive (mental/thoughts) and behavioral (actions) elements to create change. CBT is evidence-based for anything from adjustment issues to depression and anxiety. 

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - this approach grew from CBT and is similar in many ways as it focuses on thoughts and actions, however, this focuses on acceptance and learning to manage the difficulties that life will throw at you using mindfulness techniques. 


Gottman Method - this approach is a couples therapy which aims to aid couples in improving their relationship. It aims to improve different aspects of relationships, such as intimacy or communication, which comes from an analysis of a study of couples over a long period of time. 


I also use different evidence-based programs, to aid in parent training to coincide with child/teen therapy. 


I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Psychology from Florida International University. I love yoga and other mindfulness-based activities. I spend most of my time away from work hanging out with my family and my husband. I am an avid gamer (playing anything from Animal Crossing to Call of Duty) and a huge bookworm (reading tons of young adult fiction/nonfiction and biographies).
