Diana Garcia, LMHC, CDWF.
Relationship & Anxiety Counselor in Plantation, FL.
Are you struggling with constant worrying & racing thoughts? You notice that you’re more irritable and tense for no apparent reason. You’re afraid to take risks due to spiraling thoughts, moments of self-doubt, and the need for the perfect answer/solution.
If you’re in a relationship, are you noticing an increase in arguments with your partner? You’ve started to feel some distance in your partnership and it feels like you’re living with a roommate.
ARE YOU READY TO FIND SOLUTIONS?
Imagine being able to have less anxiety, more authenticity, and live a value-driven life that you’re proud of. Being able to be more present in your life and making the voices of insecurities small and powerless. Having the courage to make the meaningful changes in your life.
If you are in a relationship, imagine that ordinary disagreements are just that, differences that you can learn how to resolve. You and your partner will be able to understand what keeps triggering these fights and your relationship could be your source of strength/safety.
Therapeutically, I tend to employ a client-centered approach, which means I genuinely believe you are the expert in your life and I’m helping to guide the process of growth along. My therapeutic style includes providing honest/direct feedback in a warm authentic manner. I hope to foster an environment where you feel safe as well as hold you accountable for your goals.
I also strongly believe in implementing research-based approaches to my work including incorporating interventions and techniques from the following modalities:
Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) – a model that hopes to increase your ability to manage life’s inevitable twists and turns. This model incorporates mindfulness and acceptance techniques with a focus on behavioral changes.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – the focus is changing unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors in order to move forward towards your goals.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) – this approach focuses on helping couples understand what underlying emotions are triggering their consistent fights in order to stop the cycle from continuing. The focus becomes on fostering connection rather than distance in moments of distress.
I’m also a Certified Daring Way Facilitator, which means I’m trained to implement the Daring Way™ and Rising Strong™ work done by Dr. Brené Brown. The Daring Way™ is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. During the process, facilitators explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness.
A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT ME
I am the founder of Nurturing Minds Counseling PLLC. I have a Bachelors in Psychology and a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Florida International University. When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my family and friends going to the beach, eating good food or just catching a movie. I’m also a bookworm who juggles reading my book club picks, listening to my audible app (not sure if that’s cheating), and alternating between fiction and non-fiction books.
Work with me by calling today for a free 15-minute phone consultation at 954-903-1676 to discover if we would be a good fit to work together.
