Are you unhappy in your relationship and you would like to feel connected again?
Have you struggled finding purpose and meaning?
Does it seem that people, places and things are dictating and controlling your life?
And yet you are surviving. It may not always be pretty, but something keeps you putting one foot in front of the other getting you from day to day, moment to moment on this journey of life. This is resiliency.
Resilience is the process and outcome of successfully adapting to difficult or challenging life experiences. Adjusting our thoughts, feelings and behaviors requires flexibility to both the external and internal demands.
ARE YOU READY TO FIND SOLUTIONS?
Let me help you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move forward to achieving those dreams and desires. You have accomplished this before; you just never had a word to define it. Let’s build upon those inner strengths and use that determination and drive to continue your journey. You can do it!
Living in the past leads to despair and depression. Living in the future leaves us anxious and chaotic. Learning to live in today, in the moment is a challenge and skill which you can benefit from. The past is gone. You can’t change it. The future is out of reach and may not come. This is your moment. Live for today. Don’t waste any more time telling those old stories. Be you, now, living life to its fullest. Write a new story today! Don’t waste another second...let’s figure out what your next step will be! I’ll support your decisions and ideas and help you navigate your journey to the next level.
THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
As a therapist I work with many models (treatments) of therapy that are evidence and/or research based, a few including:
-Client Centered Therapy: which focuses on change occurring by creating conditions for the client to grow. Examples of this are: Congruence, Unconditional Positive Regard, and Empathy.
-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): which focuses on learning to modify unhelpful thought patterns to improve the relationship between thoughts and feelings.
-Gottman Couples Therapy: which focuses on disarming conflicting verbal communication; increasing intimacy, respect, and affection; removing barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy; and creating a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.
-Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): which focuses on assessing strengths and resources to find solutions to a problem.
-Motivational Interviewing (MI): which focuses on the importance of a person's motivation for change through a person-centered counseling style that draws out a person's intrinsic motivation for change. It emphasizes autonomy, strengths, and a person's ideas about making positive change, while acknowledging conflicting feelings and challenges that come with change.
-Narrative Therapy: which focuses on separating the person from the problem and creating a new narrative to focus on competencies and strengths.
