"I believe that investing in your children's education, well-being, and your own growth as a parent is the ultimate gift your entire family, in addition to being my greatest privilege to partner with you in giving that gift."

  • Does your child soar through curriculum and seem advanced for their age?

  • Do they demonstrate a special skill or talent?

  • Do you think they may need enriched or fast paced academics?

  • Do you or your child find it difficult to communicate with and relate to peers?

  • Are there social or behavioral concerns?

  • Is homework a daily battle for you and your child?

  • Does your child struggle in one subject area or skill in particular or across subject areas and skills?

  • Are you having trouble managing tasks and meeting deadlines at work or school?

  • Is poor performance impacting your or your child’s self-esteem and motivation?

  • Do you need parenting support? How about help understanding your child’s needs?

  • Are you curious about intelligence or strengths and weaknesses in performance?

  • Is achieving success in school, work, home or out in the community troublesome?

Psychoeducational assessment can help you to understand individual strengths and weaknesses, as well as to determine if a person has a developmental, behavioral, or learning disability. They can also be used to determine special skills and Giftedness. Understanding individual patterns of strength and weakness assists in identifying barriers to achieving success and how to surmount those barriers. This is helpful for any age!

Specifically, psychoeducational assessments are valuable because they can provide answers for questions like:

  • why a person is unorganized, inattentive, impulsive, hyperactive, unmotivated, having trouble remembering or performing poorly in school or work

  • why a person may be intensely focused on special interests or easily distressed when experiencing even minor changes

  • why a person may feel overwhelmed with worry about managing school or work demands, as well as social demands

  • why a person may have trouble getting along with others or how much behavioral or social-emotional difficulties are impacting performance

  • what specific changes to the environment or to the way a person is taught may be needed

I work with individuals who want to learn about themselves in order to be successful and families who want the best for their children.

Psychoeducational testing is available for preschool-age children and all the way through adulthood. I am accepting referrals for:

  • Learning Disabilities

  • Giftedness

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Anxiety

  • Autism

  • Intellectual Disability

  • Emotional and/or Behavioral Disability

  • Other needs on a case-by-case basis

I have many tools available to me for use as part of the assessment process:

  • Intelligence testing

  • Attention and executive functioning testing

  • Memory testing

  • Visual-motor integration testing

  • Behavioral and social-emotional screening

  • Review of previous evaluations, test results, report cards, writing samples, etc.

  • Consultation with parents, teachers, and other professionals working with your child

Once the evaluation is complete, I will write a comprehensive psychoeducational report based on the results of the assessments, followed by a meeting to review the results and recommendations together. The psychoeducational report can be used to understand patterns of strengths and weaknesses and shared with anyone you see fit (e.g.; school staff and other service providers, medical doctors, counselors, college or work environments, tutors, etc.) in order to guide interventions and, if necessary, serve as the required documentation to demonstrate the need for academic accommodations and remediation.

Based on what is learned through, customized tutoring programs, social skills, parenting skills, consultation and other options are also available to help you, your child, and/or you family progress!

I am the founder of ELC Psychoeducational Services LLC. As both a licensed and certified School Psychologist, I have been able to dedicate time to working with children, families, and teachers within the public school system, with developmental pediatricians and neurologists, as well as grant-funded programs serving people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. Now I am able to use my experience to help children, families, and adults who seek answers to better their futures and the futures of the ones they value the most! Assisting people in learning and growing is my passion! Aside from psychoeducational evaluation, intervention, and consultation, I am also a Leader in Active Parenting Now and Teens, as well as a provider of social skills building to address school-related anxiety, and a provider of social skills curriculum to teens on the Autism Spectrum as a PEERS Adolescents Certified Provider. Having experience and a variety of tools at my disposal helps me to do what I love and do it well.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, seeking out new food and places to visit, and reading whatever fantasy fiction book has caught my eye. Life can definitely be busy but I make sure to take the time to enjoy the outdoors (even if only while floating in a pool at times!) and try to work up a sweat on a regular basis.
